Job Description Salary: Neogtiable DOEAbout the PositionA Degree in Civil Engineering is RequiredAs a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and designing of moderately complex projects while working closely with Project Management to facilitate the successful accomplishment of project goals and objectives. You will also be responsible to help cultivate relationships and develop new clients in the Evanston area.Position Type: Full-TimeTake daily direction from Project ManagementEffectively communicate and coordinate with Office Managers, Project Managers, all Engineering team members, and other technical team membersProvide daily direction to Graduate EngineersPrimary Responsibilities:In your role as Project Engineer, you will be part of our growing team by performing the functions and duties listed below:EngineeringAccountable for the systematic and consistent design for multiple engineering projects, contributing to the overall success of the office and our organizationDevelop design drawings and specifications coordinating with other disciplines as necessary, exercising judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternativesCalculate and prepare planning and design documents and reports including details and cost estimates for projects based on engineering knowledge and familiarity with codes and regulationsAssist project manager with management tasksResponsible for overseeing graduate engineers assigned to projectsAssist in preparation of funding applications and preliminary engineering reportsStamps or seals work performed and work performed by those under direct supervisionAssist with or develop project scope of work, project schedule, budget review, and schedule progress reports as directed by Project ManagementAttend team and project coordination meetingsParticipate in Post Project Review Process with clients and internal team membersPerform 3D CAD design and hand off through frequent and effective communication to CAD Department to produce drawingsInitiate quality control process for engineering documents produced (calculations, drawings, specifications, and estimates, etc.)Assist with updating Project Management Plan under direction of Project ManagementEstablish professional working relationships with clients and contractors and attend client and/or public meetings during days or evenings at the request of Project ManagementServe as a catalyst for communication, collaboration, and team building across all technical Departments and with Project Management, Engineering, and all Offices, consistently demonstrating our firms commitment to our team members and clientsEnsure our standards for consistent and superior client management and professional service delivery as well as technical excellence are enforced across all technical DepartmentsCommunicate regularly with and proactively advise Project Management and Office Manager of any significant challenge or obstacle on projectsMarketing & Business DevelopmentParticipate in marketing and business development activities including preparation of data for proposals, and attending meetings and presentationsProactively seek opportunities for cross-selling to enhance and expand our existing client relationships during and after projectsResponsible for cultivation of new and existing relationships including initial client marketing meetings, proposal and budget development, presentations, and negotiation meetings in conjunction with Marketing and Project and Office Management as requiredOtherParticipate in Office, Department, alma mater, and other recruitment effortsMaintain and expand professional capabilities through membership and other involvement in industry associations and professional organizations, pursuing appropriate continuing education, certifications, and writing and speaking opportunities, coordinating with the Human Resources CoordinatorPractice mindful awareness of your activities and surroundings, and follow all company, OSHA, federal, state, and local health and safety guidelines and requirementsPerform other related duties as assigned by the Office Manager.Experience & Certifications Required:Bachelors Degree in a Civil Engineering discipline4+ years of related professional experience or other comparable experienceProfessional Engineer with the ability to obtain registration within one year in Utah and/or other Intermountain StatesProven track record of working together with teams of technical professionals and projectsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of engineeringAbility to prepare engineering records and write concise technical reportsExcellent interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently under limited supervisionDemonstrate personal programs in service areaPhysical RequirementsThe team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds.Working ConditionsTypically, in an office or mobile office environment with frequent visits to client and project sites.In addition, the team member may be required to visit project sites in various weather conditions and extremes if needed.The use of special safety precautions and/or equipment may be required.The team member will be required to attend client meetings at night, as well as occasionally travel overnight for out of town projects and/or to other offices.
