About NYGANYGA is one of the leading independent gastroenterology practices in New York City, with 18 gastroenterologists and a hepatologist practicing across six offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn and performing procedures in two affiliated ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). Our team also includes pathologists and specially trained GI dietitians, and the practice operates a full-service pathology lab and an in-office infusion suite. NYGA is pursuing an exciting growth and transformation strategy spanning physician recruitment, service diversification, digital health, and value-based care.NYGA’s clinical research program is a robust and growing ancillary, currently running over 20 active studies focused on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), fatty liver disease, and colon cancer. The program participates in industry-sponsored, investigator-initiated, registry, and interventional trials, giving team members broad exposure to GI clinical research.Position SummaryThe Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) will support the day-to-day operations of NYGA’s clinical research program. The ideal candidate is eager to learn about conducting studies in diverse medical settings, works independently, and brings strong communication and organizational skills to a fast-paced clinical environment. With time and internal supported training, promotion to Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is expected.Key Responsibilities• Support collection, registry, and interventional clinical trials• Verify patient eligibility through medical chart review and conduct study screening• Obtain informed consent from study participants• Perform data collection and resolve data queries in a timely manner• Collect, process, and ship clinical specimens in accordance with study protocols• Maintain accurate and complete study documentation and regulatory binders• Participate in research team meetings and provide trial status updates• Travel between NYGA clinic locations as neededQualifications• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience• Minimum of 1 year of related clinical or research experience• Working knowledge of HIPAA and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines• Strong communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy• Phlebotomy experience required• Experience using AI tools such as Claude and comfort applying AI to optimize research workflows, communication, and other research-related activities - Preferred not requiredLocation & CompensationNew York City — travel between NYGA Manhattan and Brooklyn offices required.
