Job DescriptionThe Surgical Trauma ICU at IFMC is seeking a full-time experienced ICU Registered Nurse.3 x 12-hour shifts/week - Night ShiftSign on Bonus and Relocation bonus availableThe Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is a high acuity, 18-bed unit designated for the most seriously ill or injured trauma patients. The Inova Trauma Center specialists provide rapid response to surrounding counties and states within a 200-mile radius from the hospital. The Trauma ICU is committed to facilitating a comprehensive continuum of care for our patients beginning with the "Golden Hour" of trauma resuscitation and extending beyond their discharge. Trauma ICU nurses act as designated trauma bay responders to work in tandem with Trauma Surgeons and Emergency Department staff to respond to critically ill trauma patients the moment they enter the ED/ Trauma Bay.This integrated trauma team approach facilitates excellence in teamwork and enhances the ability of the Trauma ICU nurse to understand all phases of trauma recovery process. The Inova Trauma Center serves a population of more than 3,500 trauma patients annually in addition to surgical patients experiencing hemorrhagic shock and/or post-operative patients under the consultation of a Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon.The Inova Trauma Center is Northern Virginia's only Level 1 Trauma Center and one of only 73 Level 1 trauma centers recognized across the U.S by the ACS.
