Line Locator/ Underground Utility Damage Prevention

Utility Coordinator: Support Spear D Construction in coordinating underground facility locating, mapping, and offsets to avoid extra costs and damages. Work with Project and Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and Coordinators to ensure accurate documentation and invoicing is submitted timely and relationships are built and maintained with PRC, NM811, and all underground facility owners/operators. Job Requirements Be familiar with the Public Regulations Commission (PRC) KorTerra system Must have a thorough understanding of the NM811 rules and laws Operate Vivax Metrotech locating & GPS instruments Conduct formal and on-the-job training in underground utilities/damage prevention Prepare estimates for costs associated with unmarked or mismarked line damage Develop, enhance, and ensure best practices for excavating and exposing underground facilities and that all rules, laws, and procedures are practiced and followed Be available as required to respond to after hour call outs for emergency repairs including weekends and holidays Work with Safety to identify and write up incident reports and set up incident reviews on possible at-fault line damages Serve on committees and boards representing TLC and the industry as required Travel as required to support crews and project efforts statewide Verify private underground utilities with confidence to within 2 inches +/- Maintain records of invoices sent for cost reimbursement or unpaid invoices Assist in the preparation and accuracy of invoicing for delays and miss-marked or unmarked and abandoned lines Willing to support and participate in other duties as assigned or required Create As Build mapping using the Vivix Metrotech software.
