We are at the forefront of future engineering technologies, with solutions that ensure the success of our clients in key industries that are shaping the future of the world we live in.PRIMARY FUNCTION: Performs inspection operations on fabricated/purchased items and assemblies for conformance to applicable requirements.TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: Precision measuring devices such as height gage, micrometer, calipers, hardness tester, liquid penetrant equipment, hand truck, overhead crane, hand tools, etc.MATERIALS: Raw materials, semi-finished and finished parts, assemblies, and purchased items, replacement parts.SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: SupervisorDIRECTION EXERCISED: NoneWORKING PROCEDURE: Receives work instructions from supervisor Uses a variety of common precision measuring instruments to inspect quality of incoming, in-process and completed items against drawings, production and purchase orders and/or special instructions; inspects designated quantity of parts for proper condition such as identity, finish, dimensions, hardness, stage of development, condition and quality; uses visual and mechanical inspection techniques in determining quality of item. Accepts/rejects parts, prepares material move forms, tag material with proper identification to document the receipt and disposition of material record, record data as required. Holds designated materials for certifications and release and sees that such materials are properly identified; maintains appropriate files. Verifies adequate protection of items subject to damage and mishandling. Use crane and hand trucks to move material from and within work areas for inspection purposes. Occasionally dye checks standard welds or materials to locate defects, as directed.
