Job Title: Laboratory Technologist-Level VI Location: Manhattan, NY Job Type: Full-Time | PermanentSetting: Healthcare / Hospital Laboratory OperationsA leading healthcare organization in Manhattan is seeking an experienced laboratory operations leader to oversee daily technical operations, quality management, compliance, and staff performance within a high-volume clinical laboratory environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring efficient laboratory workflow, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and delivery of high-quality patient care services.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day laboratory operations across assigned departmentsEnsure compliance with NYS CLEP, CAP, TJC, and quality management standardsSupervise laboratory staff, scheduling, competency assessments, and cross-training initiativesMonitor laboratory testing accuracy, turnaround times, quality control, and proficiency testingLead implementation and optimization of laboratory systems, LIS platforms, and EPIC integrationSupport instrument validation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementation of new methodologiesManage laboratory purchasing, inventory, vendor coordination, and operational resourcesCollaborate with clinicians and interdisciplinary teams regarding testing services and interpretationConduct staff evaluations, provide leadership development, and support continuing education initiativesMaintain compliance with safety, infection control, HIPAA, and patient safety standardsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, committee meetings, and departmental reportingQualificationsNYSED Clinical Laboratory Technologist License requiredMust meet NY Public Health Law requirements for Laboratory Supervisor qualificationsBachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related science fieldMinimum 5 years of laboratory experience requiredPrior supervisory or management experience strongly preferredStrong knowledge of laboratory regulations, quality systems, and operational leadershipPreferred ExperienceExperience with EPIC, Cerner, WellSky, Immunolink, and Microsoft OfficeStrong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skillsExperience in hospital or healthcare laboratory environmentsKnowledge of ISO standards and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)Additional Information & BenefitsCompetitive annual salary of $140,689 per annumComprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and holiday packagePension and retirement savings optionsOpportunities for leadership development and career growthCollaborative, mission-driven healthcare environmentStable full-time hospital leadership opportunityWhy Apply?Leadership opportunity within a respected healthcare environmentCollaborative and mission-driven cultureOpportunity to drive operational excellence and quality improvementCompetitive compensation and benefits packageInterested?If you have strong laboratory leadership experience and are looking for your next opportunity in healthcare operations, apply today to learn more about this opportunity.
