Registered Nurse (RN) (Cardiology)

HAVE A HEART FOUNDATION, INC. Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) (Cardiology) Position Reports To: Medical Director Position Summary: The Cardiology Nurse is responsible for assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating direct and indirect care of adult patients in the Have A Heart Cardiology Clinic. The Cardiology nurse is responsible for continuous preliminary interpretation of electrocardiograms and continual medical monitoring of patient’s health status throughout the stress tests and other cardiovascular testing that requires an RN to be present. Patient intake and assisting the provider in patient care is also a major requirement. Have A Heart is a small clinic and requires medical staff to assist each other daily. Key Responsibilities: Patient intake using EHR System - Athena Health Preliminary interpretation of electrocardiograms (EKG) Continuous monitoring of patient condition throughout stress tests and other cardiovascular testing that requires an RN to be present. (Training available by Clinic if no prior experience.) Proficient at starting IV’s and using contrast agents for echocardiography testing. Knowledgeable of common cardiac emergent and non-emergent medications Responsible for providing immediate nursing care and supervision in an emergency situation. Contact payers to obtain medical authorizations for testing as required. Liaison between clinic staff, patient, and physician. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required: Current and Active Kentucky RN License required. Medical Surgical nursing experience in cardiology preferred. Must maintain an active BCLS card through the American Heart Association. Must maintain an active ACLS card through the American Heart Association. Bi-Lingual in Spanish a bonus.
