People Operations Generalist (Manager)

The People Operations Generalist will be a well-rounded professional who can manage key aspects of People Operations, support continuous improvement efforts enriching our culture, while working in core areas of HR operations, talent acquisition, JEDI, benefits, etc. They also will have strong knowledge of CA law. The People Operations Generalist should be a resourceful self-starter who will thrive in a diverse, community-based environment and bring a blend of patience, curiosity, empathy, and accountability when partnering with staff.What You'll DoPeople Operations General SupportSupport the Senior Director of People Operations and hiring managers in creating and maintaining recruitment plans to attract diverse and talented candidatesLead and support hiring managers and the Senior Director of People Operations with administrative tasks related to recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processesCo-Lead benefits open enrollment and ongoing administration of all benefits, including medical, dental, vision, LTD, 403b, life insurance, and FSA & commuter/transit plans while serving as a liaison between employees and plan providers.Work with the People Operations team on employee leaves of absence (e.g., FMLA, ADA, personal, medical, and parental leave), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies while serving as a point of contact for employees throughout the leave process.Run ADP reports on HR data, including retention, demographics, PTO balances, benefits usage, etc.Partner closely with the Finance team to ensure accuracy and compliance with processing pre-payroll changes, benefit deductions, and new employee records.Coach people leaders on performance support, professional planning and team retention strategiesPartner with the Senior Director of People Operations to develop and administer a compensation program, including compensation reviews and surveys to ensure equitable and fair payAssist the Senior Director of People Operations with pulse surveys, employee engagement and employee developmentRecommend and support strategies to foster a welcoming and inclusive culture for all staff while partnering with managers and leadership to maintain an employee-centered workplace cultureOversee creation and maintenance of employee files and other employment records; process forms related to employee changes, hires and terminationsEnsure all employee data is entered and updated in ADP Workforce Now and HRIS systems, including deductions, benefits and all employee changes and update the finance department for payroll processingMaintain and implement ongoing workflows, build out key features, and lead end-to-end initiatives (performance management, feedback, and employee development) using our employee engagement system, Lattice.Partner with the Senior Director of People Operations to effectively manage employee relations concerns by providing informed guidance and support to educational staffPeople Operations ComplianceCoordinate with Senior Director of People Operations to complete all compliance and HR reporting documentsPartner with the Senior Director of People Operations to ensure FACES SF remains in compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations, including recruiting, hiring, compensation, benefits, discipline, and terminationEnsure compliance with federal and state laws, specifically related to FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Workers comp, etc.Collaborate with the Senior Director of People Operations to develop and maintain employee policies to ensure compliance and best practices; support communication and training to ensure consistent implementationManage Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting to ensure timely and accurate submission of required forms (e.g., 1095-C), maintaining compliance with federal regulations and coordinating with payroll and benefits providers.Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEOQualifications:We seek candidates with a solid mix of the following knowledge, ability, skills and experience:5-7 years of experience working in human resourcesExperience working with nonprofit organizations preferred, especially those with educators on staffStrong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse communitySound judgment to handle sensitive and confidential informationKnowledge of FMLA, CFRA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other state and federal regulationsInnovative thinker who can contribute to continuous improvement of protocols, policies and operating procedures and adapt to new technology and platformsExperience with JEDI planning and implementation is a plusExperience with creating ERG's, Diversity Networks, Colleague Resource Groups is a plusResourceful and able to multitask, prioritize, manage time effectivelyProficient technical skills, including ADP Software, Lattice, database, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and online communications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, etc.)Ability to meet required state, federal, local, and CDC standards (including but not limited to fingerprint clearance, negative TB test, First Aid, CPR)A deep commitment to aligning all program practices to FACES values, especially around equity, inclusion, and belonging for all our stakeholders within the evaluation processStrong passion for and a a desire to humbly reflect and grow in pursuit of our missionA sense of humor - we believe joy and justice go hand in hand!What We Offer:Competitive salary between $85,000-$100,000 based on experience and qualificationsThree weeks of vacation, personal and floating holidays, ten sick days, ten paid holidays (including one-week winter closure between Christmas and New Year's) and a day off for your birthday!A retirement plan with employer match up to 7% of your salary100% employer covered health care for employee, and 25% coverage for dependentsA chance to positively impact the lives of young children and their familiesA fun, dynamic and collaborative working environmentBeing part of a movement to achieve educational and economic justiceFACES SF is a welcoming space for all.
