This is an opportunity to work at the center of some of the most important legislative and regulatory issues impacting the agriculture, food, nutrition, trade, and consumer products sectors today.The firm advises Fortune 500 companies, leading trade associations, innovative startups, and mission-driven organizations on complex public policy challenges and high-profile advocacy initiatives. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and intellectually dynamic, offering direct exposure to senior corporate and association leadership as well as policymakers across Congress and the Administration.The ideal candidate brings experience working alongside congressional Democrats, their leadership, key committee staff, and the Administration. Candidates must have a sophisticated understanding of agriculture and food policy. The individual will shape client strategy, drive advocacy efforts, and provide executive-level strategic counselWhat You’ll DoDevelop and execute federal advocacy strategies for corporate, trade association, nonprofit, and emerging growth clientsServe as a lead Democratic advocate and strategist on agriculture, food, nutrition, trade, sustainability, and FDA-related policy mattersRepresent clients before Congress, federal agencies, the Executive Office of the President, industry coalitions, and other policy forumsLead engagement efforts with Democratic members and staff across key congressional committees, including the House and Senate Agriculture Committees, House Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, Ways & Means, Energy & Commerce, Transportation & Infrastructure, and Natural Resources CommitteesLeverage established Democratic relationships across Congress and the Administration to advance client priorities and shape policy outcomesAdvise clients on legislative, regulatory, and political developments impacting the agriculture and food sectorsDevelop comprehensive engagement strategies related to the Farm Bill, food and nutrition policy, supply chain and trade issues, rural economic development, sustainability initiatives, and agricultural innovationAnticipate emerging policy risks and opportunities and provide timely strategic guidance to clientsPartner closely with colleagues across government relations, communications, and strategic advisory teamsContribute to business development efforts and support continued growth of the firm’s agriculture practice What You’ll Need to SucceedBachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience in Democratic Capitol Hill offices, government affairs, trade associations, or related policy environmentsDeep expertise in federal agriculture, food, nutrition, trade, and FDA policy issuesStrong relationships with Democratic congressional offices, committee staff, Administration officials, and key stakeholder organizationsSophisticated understanding of the federal legislative and regulatory processProven ability to advise senior executives and translate complex policy developments into clear business and advocacy strategiesExecutive presence with strong client management and relationship-building skillsExceptional written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to thrive in a fast-moving, high-profile consulting environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlinesCollaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across policy, communications, and client service teamsStrategic thinker who can anticipate policy trends, identify opportunities, and deliver actionable guidance to clientsFlexibility for occasional overnight travelCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $250,000 – $350,000, depending on level of experience.
