From an M&A perspective, the team has experienced strong growth in sell-side and buy-side mandates across utilities, generation and renewables going from #60 in 2021 to #12 with plans to continue advancing.Banking supports client business activities throughout the region with an extensive range of capital markets and lending capabilities and an integrated team of coverage, advisory and product bankers responsible for client relationship management and strategic transaction development to execute banking and securities mandates and originate idea generation for potential acquisitions, divestitures and investment opportunities.Job SummaryU.S. Investment & Corporate Banking Analysts are directly involved in the design, origination, structuring and execution of financial advisory, global capital markets, financial risk management, structured & syndicated finance, and other global products and services for existing and prospective clients within the Power and Utilities sector. An Analyst is expected to understand the implications, identify key industry trends and provide input on pitch and deal material to enhance the ultimate deliverable.Analysts are assigned to a variety of projects and are given a broad range of responsibilities, some of which include:Business development and relationship managementPrepare client pitches and marketing materials including M&A, syndicated bank financing, public/private debt & equity capital markets, and other internal documentation by coordinating internal and external resourcesAssist in the development and continued cultivation of client relationshipsSupport product group idea generation and solutions development across a broad platform of global capabilitiesFinancial analysis, industry analysis, and transaction executionFinancial modeling, valuation, comparable & relative value analyses and market-specific analysisConduct and model a broad range of corporate finance alternatives and due diligence for client transactions including M&A, strategic alternatives, capital structure development, acquisition finance and syndicated loan and capital market financingIndustry analysis of regulatory environments, rate cases, capital expenditure plans, and utility financial frameworksAssist in evaluating risk/return parameters of financing transactions with Corporate BankersAssist in financing structuring, underwriting transaction evaluation, preparation, due diligence and executionTeam collaborationWork collaboratively in deal teams to support business objectivesParticipate in franchise and culture building activities such as recruiting, ERG involvement, training and community eventsQualificationsAn undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics or accounting and an outstanding record of academic achievementMinimum of 1 years investment banking, corporate finance and capital markets experience with a top tier bankKnowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets and risk & pricing analysisSkillsExceptional skills in quantitative analytics, financial modeling and credit analysisAptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop insights and/or product solutionsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlinesStrong written and oral communication skills and ability to convey ideasCreativity and intellectual curiosityAbility to work independently and must be able to work effectively in a team environmentAdvanced proficiency with FactSet, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, Microsoft OfficeSeries 79 & 63, preferred although not requiredThe expected base salary ranges from $110K - $130k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
