Lowell Public School DistrictRobotics and Automation Engineering Technology Teacher 9-12JOB POSTINGPOSITION: Robotics and Automation Engineering Technology Teacher 9-12AVAILABLE POSITIONS: 1REPORTS TO: Principal of RecordEFFECTIVE DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: 2026-2027 school yearPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Job Overview: The Robotics and Automation Engineering Technology teacher will provide high-quality, hands-on instruction, motivation, and mentoring to students in grades 9-12 as they master the occupational skills identified in the DESE Chapter 74 framework for the program.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Chapter 74 program frameworkProvide hands-on, project-based learning experiences to studentsPrepare students for industry-recognized credentials (IRCs) of value to employersMaintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environmentDevelop and implement curriculum, assessments, and instructional materialsManage classroom operations, equipment, and technology resourcesCollaborate with administrators, colleagues, and industry partnersParticipate in professional development opportunitiesLICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:Candidates must possess a preliminary or professional Massachusetts Technical Teacher License to teach the Chapter 74 program or be eligible to be granted a waiver while completing the licensure requirements as listed below:Education: Associate degree with 18 credits related to the subject matter/frameworkWork Experience: 4 years related to the subject matter/framework (bachelor's degree requires 3 years and master's degree 2 years of work experience)Industry Credentials: None requiredPassing scores on DESE subject matter written and performance testsPassing score on either the DESE MTEL or VTEL literacy testsEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER:Lowell Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
