GeneralJob Title: Underwriter - US High Value Homeowners – High Net WorthDivision: Property Risks- HVHKey Relationships: Brokers, Underwriters, Claims, Operations, Compliance & Regulatory, coverholders, reinsurers, external clients and suppliersJob Summary: Lead Underwriting professional who will be responsible for underwriting leadership, portfolio strategy and technical excellence across a high-value personal lines book. This role ensures disciplined risk selection, pricing integrity and consistent application of underwriting standards while supporting growth in the high net worth segments. The position serves as both a technical authority and a people/market leader, partnering closely with distribution, operations, claims and leadership to deliver profitable growth and exceptional client outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderwritingLead underwriting decision-making for complex, high-value, and non-standard personal lines risks.Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of High Net Worth HVH business as part of the HVH-Property Risks team.Structure tailor-made solutions by considering the team underwriting parameters and underwriting policy and using underwriting knowledge and experience to win new business and retain existing.Monitor premiums, costs and claims ratios per contract and take corrective measures if necessary to ensure long term profitability at account and portfolio level.Evaluate appropriate risk premium by considering the risk costs, reinsurance cessions, capital exposure as well as the underwriting and general administration costs to ensure profitability, using rating models as applicable.Monitor peer underwriters in their daily work to ensure profitability as well as efficient and cost effective administration of the HVH account.Monitor and supervise underwriters and assistants in their daily work tied to high value net worth to ensure compliance with underwriting philosophy and policy and consistency within the team and Property Risks.Comply with the Group’s minimum underwriting standards for business written through Lloyd’s, Beazley Excess and Surplus Inc., Beazley Insurance Company Inc or Beazley’s internal MGAs.Develop and maintain good working relationship with the claims managers on this class of business.Client ManagementAdvise, assist and service clients on insurance and risk matters to ensure clients’ satisfaction.Foster positive relationships with clients to get a mutual understanding of both their and Beazley’s needs.Maintenance of good business relationships with brokers.Maintain awareness of overall Beazley product range and take advantages of opportunities to introduce other Beazley products to clients.GeneralLeverage networking opportunities within the business to develop standardised underwriting policy and best practice within Beazley.Develop best practice and disseminate business and class knowledge within the Property Risks & HVH team.Work with peers within Property Risks and HVH to maximise business opportunities and profitability within the department.
