This posting is for a Speech Language Pathologist for the 2026-27 school year. There are three (3) 1.0 FTE positions available and one (1) 0.5 FTE position available. Jobs open until filled with a anticipated start date of 09/01/2026.Job Goal:To develop speech and language skills for students with disabilities, that interfere with an individual student's ability to access the educational program.REQUIRED ATTACHMENTSCover LetterResumeTranscripts3 Certificated Reference forms and/or LettersValid Washington State CertificatePerformance Responsibilities:Demonstrates specialized skills through a high-level knowledge in designing and conducting specialized programs of prevention, intervention, remediation and evaluation in the area of speech and communication skills.Serves as a resource to school staff members in communication and speech improvement.Assist and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments.Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing, and language impairments.Provides screening to identify children with speech and language impairments at regular intervals and at specified levels.Assists in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community as appropriate.Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech or language impairments.Demonstrates management of special and technical environment through a high level of performance in managing and organizing the special materials, equipment and environment essential to the specialized programs.Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggestions for the student's daily activities.Provides inservice education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech improvement.Demonstrates professionalism and continued professional growth.Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services.Maintains lists of referred, screened, and eligible students, as well as a directory of outside agencies, consultants, specialists and related services.Compiles case history data on those cases where additional family history, health history, early developmental history, and environmental history are deemed appropriate.Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed equipment and supplies.Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Complete work at the assigned workstation.Consistently deal with people in a polite and courteous manner.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate Certificate with speech language pathologist/audiologist endorsement.Hold or be able to attain CCC-SLP certificationCriminal Justice Fingerprint/Background clearanceKnowledge of both verbal and non-verbal communications methods, including AAC, visuals (PECS), and voice output devices/apps (from simple to advanced).Demonstrated willingness and ability to work cooperatively with administration and staff.Valid CCC-SLP.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.Experience Required: Prior job related experience.Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds, and evaluate performance.Knowledge of curriculum, education code, district policies.Abilities to stand and walk for prolonged periods, perform a variety of specialized and responsible tasks, maintain records, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, other school personnel, meet schedule and deadlines. Significant physical abilities may include lifting/carrying 25 to 50 pounds, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, near/far visual acuity/depth perception/accommodation/field of vision.Reports to: Executive Director of Student SupportCompensation and Benefits:Employee Compensation and Benefits are outlined in the CEA Bargaining Agreement. To be eligible, a person must work 630 hours in the school year. If eligible, SEBB benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, AD&D Insurance, Flexible Spending Arrangements (FSA), and Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP). Retirement benefits, if eligible, may include membership in TRS retirement plans in addition to voluntary Deferred Compensation Program and 403(b) Annuity enrollments.
