Lower School (1st Grade) Teacher

The O’Neal School in beautiful Southern Pines / Pinehurst, North Carolina seeks a qualified Lower School Teacher to start in August 2026. The available position is in 1st grade. The major responsibility of this position is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program according to the guidelines provided by The O’Neal School curriculum which guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToHave knowledge of, uphold, model, and communicate the mission of The O’Neal School.Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons appropriate to each subject.Assess, record, and report on the development and progress of students.Stay abreast of developments in the field through reading, research, and professional development, including faculty development days.Liaise and collaborate with colleagues, including Division Head, fellow teachers, counselor, and other resources.Participate in sponsorship of student extracurricular activities.Minimum RequirementsA Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.Previous experience teaching elementary schoolExcellent communication and interpersonal skills related to interactions with students, parents, and fellow teachers.Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and an adherence to timeliness.All employees hired by The O’Neal School must have legal authorization to work in the United States and must pass a pre-employment background check.Interested applicants should email a resume and a cover letter to jobs@onealschool.org .
