Intake Clinician - Overnights

Every day, we work to create a safe, welcoming space where people feel heard, supported, and empowered to take the next step toward healing.As our Intake Clinician, you will often be the very first point of contact for patients seeking help. Your role is more than gathering information—it's about building trust from the first conversation, assessing needs with empathy, and ensuring each patient is connected to the right services quickly and effectively. This position will help assess the needs of walk-in and telephone callers and ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address their needs. Shift is 7:00pm - 7:30am as needed to fill in coverage.Responsibilities And DutiesResponds to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related servicesConduct compassionate, thorough intake assessments, both in-person and via telephoneEvaluate presenting concerns, mental health history, risk factors, and immediate needs using evidence-based screening toolsCollaborate with clinical teams to determine the most appropriate level of care and treatment planProvide crisis intervention and safety planning when necessaryMaintain accurate, timely documentation in our electronic health record (EHR) systemServe as a knowledgeable resource for clients and families, explaining services, processes, and next steps in clear, supportive languageAssume responsibility in maintaining a safe, orderly and therapeutic physical environment for all patientsMake appropriate interventions during assessments, and crisis situations with clients, family/friends and other professional staffAssist clients who are not admitted into a program with follow through of clinical referrals and recommendationsProvide pertinent clinical information to physician and program staff who will be reviewing the patient, to ensure a smooth transition for the patientRequirementsMaster's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field requiredExperience conducting clinical assessments in a behavioral health, hospital, or community mental health settingStrong crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain calm under pressureExceptional interpersonal skills—able to connect quickly and authentically with diverse populationsCurrent Nevada State clinical license (LCSW, LSW, RN, etc.) preferredExperience in a Behavioral Health facility strongly preferredKnowledgeable of patient rights and laws pertaining to mental healthBenefitsA full benefits package is available the first of the month following 30 days of employment.Desert Parkway offers competitive benefits to include:Medical insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance 401K Retirement PlanHealthcare spending accountDependent care spending accountPTO Plan with holiday premium payDiscounted cafeteria meal planLife insurance (including plans for spouse and children)Short- and long-term disability (with additional buy-in opportunities)Pet InsuranceIdentity Theft Insurance
