Nurse Practitioner - Gastroenterology (Hiring Immediately)

Job Description Our client is seeking a Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day assignment in New York, commencing Jul 6, 2026. This role involves standard 5-day shifts from 8:00 to 17:00, focusing on the referral of complex cases to collaborating physicians, providing medical and emergency interventions, and prescribing and monitoring medications. Responsibilities and Duties Refer complex and high-priority cases to collaborating physicians concerning complicated diagnostic problems, serious illness, complicated therapeutic issues, and re-evaluation of chronic conditions. Provide medical and emergency interventions appropriate to the client's needs, including prescribing and monitoring medications relevant to the diagnosis. Evaluate medical problems of acutely ill adult patients in the assigned Gastroenterology/Internal Medicine practice setting and request consultation of other specialties when indicated. Provide education to patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications pertinent to the patient's condition. Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations. Facilitate evaluation of records by physician(s), peers, and quality standards according to protocols.
