Legal Job Opportunity: [In-House] AVP, Associate General Counsel - P&C Insurance Regulatory / Corporate [NYC or CT] Our client, a global P&C insurance carrier is seeking an attorney to support regulatory, compliance, and corporate matters across its U.S. operations. This is a highly visible, business-facing role partnering with underwriting, product, and leadership teams to support growth across both admitted and non-admitted platforms. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with insurance regulatory or corporate experience who are looking to deepen their exposure to P&C in‑house and work more closely with the business, especially those seeking a move in‑house from private practice for stronger work/life balance. Role & Responsibilities Advise on insurance regulatory and compliance matters across U.S. entities Partner with internal stakeholders on product development, filings, and regulatory strategy Support interactions with state insurance regulators, including inquiries and filings Assist with product filings, endorsements, and related regulatory requirements Provide guidance on corporate governance and internal compliance initiatives Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and advise on legal risk Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the business Collaborate cross-functionally on broader legal and operational projects Qualifications MUST HAVE 4+ years of legal experience, within P&C insurance regulatory, compliance, or corporate law Experience within the P&C insurance industry or advising insurance clients, whether in‑house or law firm Experience with product filings, endorsements, and/or regulatory submissions Familiarity with U.S. insurance regulatory frameworks and state DOI interaction Strong drafting and negotiation skills across commercial agreements Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with business stakeholders Admission and in good standing with the NY or CT Bar Nice to Have: Exposure to reinsurance or non-admitted (E&S) markets Law firm (BigLaw or mid-sized) training or in-house insurance experience International or cross-border experience Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: ~ $150,000 - $200,000 Bonus: ~20% discretionary (with upside) Location & Work Model NYC or Connecticut (back-up location is Long Island) Hybrid: 4 days in office, 1 day remote Why This Role?
