Yard Driver

The Yard Driver operates yard trucks to shuttle trailers between designated locations and verifies trailer placement. This position will support the overall flow of freight by maintaining an organized yard, following safety protocols, and ensuring trailers are ready for loading, unloading, and Over the Road driver pickup.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDrive trailers to and from receiving/shipping docks inside the yard     Work closely in a team environment to complete daily tasks and goals to include third party vendors              Adherence to all company policies to include all safety rules          Hooking and unhooking airlines to trailers       Pre and Post Operation Audits  Following instructions provided by two-way radio       Reporting safety and mechanical issues promptly and accurately according to the standard operating procedure              Support other departments of the Distribution Center as business requires       Follow OSHA Regulations and all safety requirements       Additional duties as assigned by manager       ScopeStaff supervision and development: NoDecision making:  Works under direct supervision and follows established and standardized processes.Travel: Up to 5%Flex Designation: DC BasedThe anticipated rate for this position is $23.50 per hour depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience.
