Programmers.io is currently looking for an "RPG Programmer / IBM i (AS/400) System Administrator"Onsite in Greensboro, NC, United States.Full Time Role with benefitsJob Summary:We are seeking a mid-level RPG Programmer / IBM i (AS/400) System Administrator to support and maintain our IBM Power Systems environment (Power 10 & Power 11). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IBM i administration, AS/400 operations, RPG development, system monitoring, backups, and troubleshooting in a production environment. This role combines programming responsibilities with day-to-day system administration and operational support.Key Responsibilities:Administer and maintain IBM i (AS/400) Power 10 & Power 11 systems.Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using RPG (RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, Free-Form RPG).Monitor system health, review nightly jobs, backups, console messages, and system status.Manage BRMS, tape backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes.Support and monitor iTera data replication between IBM i systems.Perform IBM i OS updates, PTF installations, and third-party software upgrades.Participate in a shared on-call rotation and provide operational support.Troubleshoot system, job, printer, and application issues.Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams on integrated systems support.Required Skills:10+ years of IBM i (AS/400) Administration and Operations experience.Strong RPG programming experience.Experience with IBM Navigator, ACS (Access Client Solutions), IFS, FTP, and system monitoring.Knowledge of backups, restores, BRMS, user profile administration, and system audits.Ability to support both legacy and modern IBM i environments.Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills.If you are interested, please apply or feel free to share your updated resume at anas.khan@programmers.ai
