Electrical Senior Project Manager – Data Hall Electrical Infrastructure

>1 GW Hyperscale Data Center ProgramLocation: Greater St. Louis, Missouri / New Florence, MO areaWork Arrangement: On-site / hybrid as required by project scheduleProject Type: Hyperscale Data Center / Mission-Critical InfrastructureProgram Scale: >1 GW hyperscale data center campusRole Focus: Electrical infrastructure within the data halls, from transformer secondary distribution downstream to server rack power interfacePer Diem: Yes. Generous per diem package available for candidates whose home location is more than 100 miles from New Florence, MissouriCompensation: Commensurate with experience and adjusted for project schedule, rotation, and role requirementsAbout the RoleAlbers Management is supporting the delivery of a major hyperscale data center project outside of St. Louis. The program is a large-scale, mission-critical data center development requiring experienced project leadership across electrical infrastructure, construction coordination, commissioning readiness, and turnover. We are seeking an Electrical Senior Project Manager to join the project’s Electrical Project Management Team. This role will be responsible for managing the delivery of electrical systems inside the data halls, generally beginning downstream of the transformer and extending through the electrical distribution pathway serving the server rack environment. This position is not focused on utility interconnection, substation delivery, or transformer-side infrastructure. That scope is managed by another electrical PM. It is also not primarily responsible for the physical installation of the data racks, which will be led by a separate PM. This role owns the electrical infrastructure that enables the rack environment, including the coordination, installation, readiness, and turnover of the systems that distribute power from the transformer-side handoff point to the rack power interface. The ideal candidate has direct experience managing complex electrical construction in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial power environments, or other high-reliability infrastructure settings. They must be capable of working within a large project team, coordinating across multiple workstreams, and driving clarity between design, construction, commissioning, QA/QC, schedule, cost, and turnover requirements. This is a hands-on project delivery role. The right candidate understands that mission-critical electrical work is not managed from a desk alone. They can review drawings, challenge sequencing, identify constructability issues, coordinate field installation, track constraints, resolve RFIs, support commissioning readiness, and communicate clearly with senior project leadership, contractors, engineers, vendors, and owner-side stakeholders. An Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or similiar degree is helpful, but proven field-based electrical project delivery experience is more important than credentials alone.Primary Scope of ResponsibilityThe Electrical Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the successful management and coordination of data hall electrical infrastructure, including systems generally associated with:Transformer secondary-side coordination and downstream distribution interfacesMedium-voltage and/or low-voltage distribution serving the data halls, as applicableSwitchgear, switchboards, panelboards, busway, power distribution units, remote power panels, and related distribution equipmentFeeder pathways, conduit, cable tray, bus duct, cable pulls, terminations, labeling, testing, and energization sequencingElectrical rooms, data hall power distribution pathways, and equipment placement coordinationCoordination with mechanical, controls, fire protection, security, low-voltage, commissioning, and rack deployment teamsElectrical installation readiness for the data hall rack environmentQA/QC, inspection, testing, startup, commissioning support, and turnover documentation for assigned electrical scopesThe role must coordinate closely with:The electrical PM responsible for upstream transformer / utility / substation-side scopeThe PM responsible for data rack installationElectrical contractors and specialty subcontractorsDesign engineers and engineer-of-record representativesCommissioning agentsQA/QC personnelProject controls, scheduling, procurement, and document control teamsOwner’s representative and client-side project leadershipOperations, facilities, and turnover teamsRequired Experience10+ years of project management, construction management, or electrical delivery experience on complex construction or infrastructure projects.Direct experience managing electrical scopes on one or more of the following:Data centersMission-critical facilitiesLarge industrial facilitiesAdvanced manufacturing campusesUtility-intensive infrastructure projectsPower distribution or high-reliability electrical systemsLarge commercial or institutional projects with complex electrical systemsDemonstrated experience managing electrical infrastructure through construction, startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover.Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems serving large facilities, including switchgear, switchboards, feeders, busway, panelboards, grounding, equipment rooms, and electrical pathways.Experience coordinating electrical work across design, construction, QA/QC, commissioning, operations, and project controls.Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, risers, equipment schedules, specifications, submittals, RFIs, test reports, and commissioning documentation.Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, vendors, design teams, and commissioning agents in a complex project environment.Strong schedule management, issue tracking, documentation, and communication skills.Ability to work on-site in the Greater St. Louis / New Florence, Missouri area as required by the project.Strongly Preferred ExperienceDirect hyperscale data center experience.Experience managing data hall electrical distribution from transformer secondary or electrical room distribution through rack power infrastructure.Experience with fast-track, phased, or multi-building data center delivery.Experience with commissioning, startup, energization planning, load bank testing, integrated systems testing, or turnover of mission-critical electrical systems.Familiarity with redundancy concepts common to data centers, including N, N+1, 2N, distributed redundant, concurrently maintainable, and fault-tolerant design approaches.Experience working in an Owner’s Representative, CM, EPC, electrical contractor, or senior construction management role.Experience managing electrical scopes in an active, highly controlled, high-security, or high-reliability environment.Electrical Engineering degree, electrical trade background, master electrician background, or equivalent technical experience.Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, BIM coordination, commissioning software, or similar project delivery platform experience.Candidate ProfileThe successful candidate will likely be someone who has been deeply involved in field execution and project delivery, not just reporting.
