Mechanic – Maintenance Job Description

The Mechanic – Maintenance Technician primary goal is to repair trailers so they are safe and road worthy to be pulled down the road. This position may work on semi/trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform annual inspections and general maintenance on trailers.
Install, repair and maintain machines and mechanical/electrical components.
Maintain and repair forklifts and other equipment on a regular basis.
Prepare and retain all documentation on repairs and/or PM’s.
Forklift operation.
Comply with guidelines from employee manual and following safety requirements.
Other duties assigned as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
Class A Commercial CDL license preferred.
Physical ability to tolerate hot/cold work environment.
Maintain constant physical activity including bending, lifting, standing long periods on concrete flooring, stooping, bending, climbing and working overhead.
Work with little or no supervision and follow instructions set by direct Manager.
