NO C2C or 1099.Top Skills:Expert everything SQLMicrosoft FabricAutomate regulatory reporting processesData architectureProcess automationSummary:Our client is seeking a highly technical contractor to join the Market & Counterparty Regulatory Reporting team, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely, and regulator-aligned reporting (e.g., FR Y‑14Q, CCAR).This role sits at the intersection of risk subject matter expertise and technology delivery, with a primary mandate to:Learn and deconstruct current reporting and stress processesIdentify inefficiencies and manual dependenciesDesign and propose scalable automation solutionsPartner with technology teams to deliver these solutions into productionThe position directly supports ongoing efforts to modernize reporting infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and reduce regulatory risk.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Analysis & SME PartnershipPartner with Market Risk and Counterparty Risk subject matter experts (SMEs) to: Understand end-to-end regulatory reporting workflows (data sourcing → transformation → aggregation → submission)Document current-state processes, controls, and data dependenciesIdentify: Manual touchpointsReconciliation gapsData lineage issuesOpportunities for standardizationAutomation & Solution DesignDevelop future-state automation proposals aligned with enterprise technology strategyTranslate business processes into scalable technical designs, including: Data pipelinesAggregation logicReporting layersEvaluate modernization opportunities such as: Migration of legacy SQL-based processes to modern application frameworks (e.g., Java-based ETL) Consolidation of fragmented reporting workflows into structured infrastructureEnsure solutions: Meet regulatory accuracy and auditability requirementsImprove performance, scalability, and control environmentsRequirements & Delivery ManagementCapture detailed business and technical requirements in Jira, including: Epics, features, and user storiesAcceptance criteria aligned with regulatory and data validation standardsPartner with technology developers to: Refine backlog itemsEnsure correct interpretation of requirementsSupport testing and validationDrive end-to-end delivery lifecycle: Design → Build → Test → Production deploymentData & Technology Engineering OversightAnalyze and work within complex reporting data environments involving: Large-scale relational datasetsRisk aggregation frameworksRegulatory reporting tablesEnsure robustness across: Data integrity and reconciliationTransformation logicPerformance optimizationReporting & Visualization EnablementIncorporate modern visualization and analytics tools where appropriate: Power BI and Tableau for reporting and insights deliveryLeverage these tools to: Reduce manual report generationEnable self-service analytics for stakeholdersImprove transparency into risk metrics and reporting outputsEmerging Technology & AI AdoptionEvaluate and recommend use of emerging technologies, including: AI/GenAI copilots for documentation, reconciliation, or anomaly detectionAdvanced analytics platforms (e.g., Fabric-like ecosystems, semantic layers)Ensure new technologies: Align with enterprise governance and risk standardsProvide measurable efficiency or control improvementsRequired Qualifications:Technical ExpertiseAdvanced proficiency in: SQL (complex queries, stored procedures, performance optimization)Java (enterprise applications, batch processing frameworks such as Spring Boot / Spring Batch preferred)Strong understanding of: Data architecture and infrastructure designETL and data pipeline developmentDistributed / scalable processing frameworksRegulatory & Domain Experience (Direct Banking Experience is a “Nice to Have” – not completely essential, but if not, the technical expertise needs to be “off the charts”)Experience working in: Market Risk or Counterparty Risk environmentsRegulatory reporting (e.g., FR Y‑14Q, CCAR, Basel) preferredFamiliarity with: Stress testing processesRisk aggregation and reporting controlsDelivery & CollaborationProven experience: Writing detailed requirements in Jira (user stories, acceptance criteria)Operating within Agile / hybrid delivery environmentsStrong ability to: Translate SME discussions into concrete technical solutionsPartner across risk, data, and technology teams “Beware of scams.
