We are a medium sized company with a family atmosphere.PACT MSO has a busy Gastroenterology office that is a Medical Administrative Assistant. The positions are located in Hamden, Milford and Guilford and will be rotating between all the office locations. Work hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.The Medical Administrative Assistant position supports a department, provider, or manager by performing duties as directed.Essential Functions:Assist with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, follow up, etc.Responsible for schedule utilization, cancelation and wait list managementCoordinates tests, procedures, and lab appointments for patientsProvide patients with information and respond to patient inquiriesSchedule and coordinate meetingsAssist with all patient portal questionsObtain and confirm demographics and patients insuranceReconcile charges in EHR dailyObtain authorizations or referralsCommunicate information appropriately, accurately, and timelyCreate, obtain, and maintain provider reports and distributes to appropriate staff, management, facilities and providersIdentify and communicate inconsistencies of information in reports to appropriate staffTrains other administrative assistantsEnsure all agreements and contracts are up to dateEnter patient information in EHRSkills and Knowledge:Intermediate computer skills including MS OfficeAttention to detailCollaboration skillsCommunication proficiencyEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent2-5 years of experience in a medical office setting as an administrative assistant preferredTravel Required: Yes.
