Senior Java Architect

Our mid-West Dallas area client company is searching for a hands-on Senior Java Architect to lead the design, development, and modernization of scalable enterprise applications and cloud-native platforms; and to provide technical leadership across architecture, software development, and system integration while contributing hands-on code and will drive engineering standards, microservices adoption, cloud strategy, DevOps practices, and AI-enabled development initiatives to deliver secure, high-performance, and maintainable solutions.The successful candidate will: have a strong balance of architecture and hands-on development; design enterprise Java 21+ architectures and contribute directly to coding; lead the development of scalable, high-performance cloud-native applications; lead code and design reviews; create prototypes and reference implementations to validate architecture decisions; contribute production code for complex features and integrations; define and enforce architecture and coding standards; document architectural decisions and system interactions; build microservices and distributed systems; design APIs and integration patterns; collaborate with product and engineering teams; troubleshoot complex production issues; drive CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices; mentor engineers through hands-on guidance; and evaluate and adopt new technologies, including AI tools.To be considered, candidates must have: 8+ years of Java development experience in Agile environments, including 4+ years of architectural responsibilities; deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security; expertise with JDBC-based data access; experience with caching strategies (distributed + local fallback); experience with microservices and distributed systems; strong experience with REST APIs and integrations; strong MySQL/Aurora SQL skills; experience with cloud platforms such as AWS; experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools; strong understanding of system performance and scalability; and experience with ERP or supply chain platforms in order to scale up and build out an acquired ERP software to an enterprise level application.Candidates must further have experience with Claude AI-assisted development tools; be familiar with AI-enabled applications and workflows; and have an understanding of data pipelines and automation solutions.Although not required, AI certifications, experience with generative AI concepts, Azure DevOps or comparable tools, security frameworks and best practices, modernizing legacy systems, and/or Spring Cloud area “plus.”Candidates must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field and be able to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship or visa transfer, whether now or in the future.NO C2C OR CONTRACT APPLICANTSThis is a permanent/full time direct-hire hybrid role with a starting base salary from $130,000 to $135,000 +/-, DOE, plus an excellent full benefits package that includes an annual merit increase, an annual discretionary performance bonus, a discretionary profit-sharing plan, a 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and much more.
