Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to bring vibrant, engaging, and meaningful experiences to our residents. This role is so fun and makes a meaningful impact on our wonderful residents. In this role, you will design, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact through creative programming and personalized engagement. This job is very flexible and can be part time at two locations, interacting with 15 residents at one house and 13 at the other.
Duties
Plan and coordinate a variety of activities that cater to seniors’ physical, emotional, and social needs, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, outings, and special events
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as participation encouragement during activities
Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of programs while accommodating individual preferences and abilities
Foster a welcoming environment by engaging residents in conversation and encouraging participation in group or one-on-one activities
Maintain detailed records of resident participation, preferences, and progress to tailor future programming effectively
Monitor activities budgets for purchasing activity items and supplies needed for holidays and events
Work with the director on planning special events, birthdays, holidays and parties

Qualifications
Knowledge of aging populations, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care strategies, and long-term care practices
Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with seniors, families, and team members
Experience working with people with disabilities or in home & community care settings is a plus
Strong organizational skills for managing schedules and maintaining accurate records
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life through engaging programming

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
