Medical AssistantAs a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing patient support and communication and facilitating an exceptional patient experience to build and reinforce satisfaction, trust, and drive organizational loyalty. Accountable for welcoming and preparing the patient for their appointment, the Medical Assistant informs patients of relevant and required information for their visit and provides clear communication around the services they are scheduled to receive.How You Will Get Things Done:Performs point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activitiesCollects and documents vital signs, histories, and screeningsAuthorizes prescription refills as directedPrepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinationsPerforms phlebotomy and correctly processes specimensCleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipmentOther duties as assignedHow You Will Build Trust:Demonstrates kindness and compassion in all patient interactionsPerforms quality controls and equipment checks.Participate in brand marketing, rotating throughout the vestibule, with a focus on engaging and increasing patient volume.How You Will Innovate:Prepares and administers PO, IM, and ID medications as directed by the Provider, utilizing the "Rights of Vaccine or Medication Administration"Provides instruction to the patient regarding medications and dietExperience to Drive Change:Certified Medical Assistant or eligible within 90 days of hire1 year of experience preferredPhlebotomy experience requiredCurrent BLS certification for healthcare providers preferred; required within 90 days of employmentHigh School Diploma/Equivalency requiredExperience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER preferredTotal Rewards at VillageMDOur team members are essential to our mission to reshape healthcare through the power of connection.
