This role blends DevOps, cloud, and application engineering, with ownership over PostgreSQL environments in AWS. The ideal candidate is someone who thinks in terms of platforms—creating systems that enable teams to move quickly while maintaining strong performance, reliability, and data integrity. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where you'll have real influence on how data systems are designed and operated. This position is on-site 5 days per week.Requirements:5+ years of experience managing and supporting PostgreSQL databases in production environmentsStrong experience with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL or similar managed database servicesSolid understanding of database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimizationExperience executing schema updates and data changes in live environments with minimal disruptionBackground working in DevOps or platform-focused teamsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code conceptsStrong troubleshooting skills in production environmentsAbility to communicate effectively across engineering and technical teamsNice to haveExperience in high-growth or high-traffic environmentsExposure to data security, auditing, and compliance practicesFamiliarity with database migration tools (Flyway, Liquibase, or similar)Working knowledge of languages such as C# or JavaScriptExperience with monitoring and observability toolsInterest in mentoring or guiding engineers on best practices for data usagePlatform-oriented mindset with a focus on scalability and enablementResponsibilities:Support and maintain PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL environments across multiple environmentsContribute to building scalable, repeatable processes for database changes and deploymentsPartner with engineering teams on data modeling, indexing, and schema designImplement and support CI/CD workflows for database changes, including validation and rollback strategiesMonitor and improve database performance through tuning and optimizationDevelop dashboards, alerts, and capacity planning processesParticipate in incident response and contribute to long-term system improvementsAssist in diagnosing and resolving application-level data and performance issuesHelp design and maintain backup, recovery, and failover processes in AWSSupport best practices for data security, access control, and complianceEnvironment:Data Platforms: PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora PostgreSQLMonitoring & Observability: CloudWatch, database performance tools, custom dashboardsLanguages: SQL (strong), familiarity with modern application languagesCloud: AWS (RDS, IAM, monitoring, backups)CM: Flyway, Liquibase, or similar toolsDevOps: CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, infrastructure-as-code collaboration
