Assistant Professor, Endodontology

Department OverviewOur school offers a collegial, inviting, and supportive environment within a modern facility. The pre-doctoral endodontic clinic is exceptionally well-equipped—each operatory includes a 5-step surgical dental operating microscope and individual radiographic units. While the position focuses primarily on pre-doctoral education, there are opportunities to interact with our advanced education program and teach residents, as well as collaborate with NIH-funded researchers.Position DutiesParticipation and collaboration in the education of predoctoral students didactically and clinicallyParticipation in the education of students (residents) in the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics in accordance and collaboration with the Program Director and Division HeadCollaboration with colleagues, students, and faculty across divisions and specialties within and outside the School of Dentistry to promote interprofessional development of the science and art of endodonticsEstablishment and maintenance of a program of specific and general scholarly activityParticipation in student, Division, Department, and School of Dentistry support activities, (i.e., regular staff meetings, committee appointments, etc.)Participation in administrative committees and councils of the Oregon Health & Science University as approved by the Chair and Division HeadEngagement in professional organizations for professional developmentParticipation in community outreach providing service in support of professional development and community needEngagement in public service through consultative, lecturing or teaching activities outside of OHSU with the knowledge and consent of the Division Head and ChairFostering a work environment of belonging, diversity, inclusion and respect for allRequired QualificationsD.D.S. or D.M.D. from a CODA accredited school or equivalentCompletion of advanced education program in Endodontics from a CODA accredited programBoard Certification in Endodontics (preferred but not required)Ability to obtain an unrestricted Oregon Dental License or a Faculty LicenseNitrous oxide or minimal sedation certification preferredBLS Certificate issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)Experience in management of a private practice in endodontics (preferred)Experience in teaching, research, service, patient care, and academic management, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are preferredAll are welcomeOregon Health & Science University values a diverse and culturally competent workforce.
