INVENTORY CONTROL COORDINATOR

We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Inventory Control Coordinator to help keep our plant running at peak performance. In this role, you’ll be a key leader ensuring the smooth flow of materials, products, and information throughout our operations. You’ll work closely with supply chain, procurement, customer service, quality, production, and warehousing teams to make sure finished goods are delivered on time and in excellent condition.
As the Inventory Control Coordinator, you’ll oversee the movement of raw materials and finished goods, maintain accurate inventory levels, and support warehouse staff in creating a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee daily inventory, logistics and receipt operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the flow of raw materials and finished goods at Sheldon, IA location
Control inventory at mixing facilities and warehouses
Order packaging and materials to ensure that the necessary supplies are readily available for efficient manufacturing and product delivery
Process inbound and outbound inventory transactions for ingredients and finished product
Function as a Microsoft AX/D365 power user (Future State)
Function as a AS400 and Feed Digest user
Communicate with supply chain management, procurement, customer service, quality and production and warehousing teams
Collaborate with department heads as necessary to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, service, and delivery with the sales function
Coordinate production planning with the Site Supervision and Corporate Commodities
Monitor daily logistical activity to ensure production quotas are met and targeted deadlines are achieved
Lead and mentor logistics specialists and warehouse material handlers
Participate as an active member of the Kent network, and all other meeting attendance.
Champion safety within the department while influencing plant-wide safety performance
Lead month end inventory count and reconciliation processes
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years’ experience in warehouse and logistics operations or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Proficient in Microsoft AX/D365 and Microsoft Office
Proficient in AS400 application and Quickbooks
Excellent organizational skills, with keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Effective time management skills are required to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
Collaborate effectively and work within a team environment
Experience in receiving, storing, shipping goods and managing inventory
Experience with Microsoft AX Dynamics or AS400, Excel, and Quickbooks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees, contractors, and outside agencies.
Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback.
