This is a full-time remote position supporting upstream oil & gas automation systems. The successful candidate will have advanced Ignition development and troubleshooting expertise, strong upstream oil & gas knowledge, and the ability to support occasional after-hours emergency calls when required. *The successful candidate:* * Has a safety-first mindset * Holds a current and verifiable *Inductive Automation Gold Certification* * Has *3+ years of Ignition development and industrial automation experience* * Has previous *upstream oil & gas experience* * Has extensive hands-on experience designing, developing, commissioning, and maintaining *Ignition applications* * Strong experience with *Ignition Perspective* * Experience developing, modifying, testing, and deploying Ignition Perspective applications * Experience configuring and maintaining *tags, UDTs, alarms, Tag Historian, security, reports, scripts, and database connections* * Strong Ignition troubleshooting skills, including *gateways, projects, tags, alarming, historian, scripting, databases, licensing, modules, performance, and client/session issues* * Experience troubleshooting *OPC UA, Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT, Ethernet/IP, serial, network, PLC/RTU, and field-device communications* * Able to diagnose communication issues between *Ignition, OPC servers, PLCs, RTUs, MQTT systems, databases, networks, and field devices* * Strong understanding of upstream production operations, field equipment, instrumentation, workflows, and operational priorities * Works directly with upstream operations personnel to understand production processes and translate operational requirements into practical Ignition solutions * Able to troubleshoot production issues and identify root causes while minimizing operational downtime * Communicates issue status, root cause, risk, and recommended corrective actions clearly to clients and internal stakeholders * Works effectively with *operations, controls, IT/OT, field personnel, and client teams* * Documents system architecture, configurations, code changes, testing results, backups, and support procedures * Assists with growing the integration team and *mentoring junior developers* * Supports scheduled upgrades, commissioning activities, and urgent troubleshooting when required * Able to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with the broader team * Reliable, dependable, and responsive * Displays a self-motivated, strong work ethic * Has excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills * Available for a *full-time commitment and occasional after-hours emergency support* * Must be a *U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident* *Preference will be given to candidates who:* * Have experience developing *Ignition Perspective mobile and responsive applications* * Have experience with larger or enterprise-level Ignition architectures * Have experience with *cybersecurity, source control, testing, documentation, and change management* * Have experience with *database architecture, development, and deployment* * Have strong upstream and midstream oil & gas process knowledge * Have experience mentoring junior Ignition developers or system integrators *Crossroad Energy Solutions Inc. offers:* * Competitive wages (*$55–$70 USD/hour*, based on Ignition expertise and upstream oil & gas experience) * Annual Profit Sharing Program * Health, Dental, and Vision Benefits (*50% employer paid*) * 401(k) sponsored plan (administration covered by Crossroad) * $450 annual safety allowance * 10 days paid time off annually * Remote work environment * Career growth and advancement opportunities * Opportunity to help grow and mentor the integration team * Hands-on support from teammates and leadership Applicants must hold a current *Inductive Automation Gold Certification* and have previous *upstream oil & gas experience*.
