Molecular Technologist

*Overview* We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Molecular Technologist I to join our laboratory team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques and contribute to our ongoing research and diagnostic efforts. *Duties* * Perform a variety of molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR and iPCR * Prepare and analyze laboratory samples according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). * Perform assays and analyze results to support ongoing studies. * Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality. * Document and maintain accurate records of experiments, results, and protocols in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. * Collaborate with clinical laboratory personnel to ensure accurate testing and reporting of results. * Maintain laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for tracking samples and data management. * Assist with the development, validation, and optimization of molecular assays. * Participate in routine quality control and assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results. * Collaborate with senior laboratory staff to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. *Skills* * Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. * Background in clinical laboratory practices is advantageous. * Ability to perform various assays with precision and attention to detail. * Experience in molecular biology techniques, including DNA extraction and PCR technologies * Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is desirable. * Familiarity with laboratory equipment (e.g., PCR machines, gel electrophoresis, spectrophotometers) is a plus. *Qualifications* * Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field. * Basic laboratory experience, preferably with molecular biology techniques (internships or coursework projects are acceptable). * Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety protocols.
