Role: Product Quality EngineerLocation: Bay Area, CAContract Length: 6 monthsContract Type: W2A cutting-edge aerospace company developing next-generation electric aircraft is growing its quality team and looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to support airframe production, certification, and continuous improvement efforts.This team is responsible for:Creating and maintaining control plans, inspection plans, and other process documentation needed for manufacturing readiness.Running or supporting PFMEAs and DFMEAs to identify and mitigate design/manufacturing risks.Reviewing engineering drawings and 3D models with strong GD&T expertise to ensure tolerance stacks, datum structures, and inspection methodologies make sense before release.Working closely with ME, QE, design engineering, and the operations team to catch manufacturability issues early.Acting as the "bridge" between design intent and real-world build processes.These roles are not design engineering. They are design-for-manufacturing and quality engineering roles—hands on, practical, and very cross-functional.Must-Have SkillsExperience creating control plans and inspection plans, including defining critical features, measurement methods, tools, and frequency.Strong PFMEA and DFMEA capability, including leading cross-functional risk reviews and documenting mitigations.Advanced GD&T (ASME Y14.5) expertise with the ability to:analyse tolerance stack-ups o recommend improved datum schemesassess inspectabilitycollaborate closely with metrology teamsNice-to-HaveFamiliarity with metrology systems such as CMMs, laser trackers, or scanners.Exposure to NDT methods, especially for composite or structural components.If you're excited about contributing to a new generation of sustainable aircraft and shaping how quality scales in a fast-growing engineering environment, we'd love to connect.
