Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Veterinary Technician to join our team of dedicated professionals. In our new team member, we expect someone who: loves all things cats and is energetic when it comes to their care; has at least 3 years of experience in veterinary medicine; is compassionate towards co-workers, patients, caregivers and themselves; has a thirst for learning and an inquisitive mind; believes attention to detail and documentation is essential to great care; has a passion for educating feline caregivers on the need for wellness and preventative care; is responsible and accountable; and desires to be in a position where your company's culture demonstrates its care for you as well as its patients.Drug calculations and administrationAnesthesia; induction, monitoring, pre, and post-operative pain control administration, assisting in surgeryDentistryIV catheter placementPhlebotomy, cystocentesis, other laboratory collection methods, and prep.Processing in-house lab samples; IDEXX, Urinalysis, CytologyKnowledge of basic emergency procedures and ability to set up for incoming casesIntaking and DischargingOverseeing hospitalized patients and recognizing changes in status and conditionsFollowing directions both verbally communicated and writtenAble to perform basic animal handling and restraint (Cat Friendly Handling)Be able to accurately position for radiographsAssist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgeryPerform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labsAssist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client educationCollect and prepare diagnostic samplesAnesthesia monitoringAssist in maintaining practice equipmentAssist veterinarian performing surgeryAssist veterinarian administer I-131 treatmentMonitor and supervice I-131 casesAssist veterinarians in any other assigned tasksMaintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exams rooms for all surfacesSupport DEA compliance as it relates to the roleAny other duties as assignedValid VA State Veterinary Technician License A common purpose with an uncommon passion—this is Rarebreed Veterinary Partners. We are a purpose-driven team placing talent first by supporting professionals to thrive in our industry and empowering hospital teams to provide exceptional care for pets and their owners.
