Senior Electrical Engineer
Role Summary
Our client, a growing architecture and engineering (A/E) firm with a strong regional presence, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead building systems design across a diverse portfolio of projects in the New England region. This role is suited for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) who is interested in technical leadership, cross-sector project exposure, and a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and develop one-line diagrams and detailed construction drawings
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams
Support construction administration activities, including site visits and technical reviews
Ensure quality through QA/QC processes and adherence to technical standards
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making
Engage with clients and present technical solutions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in electrical building systems design
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant engineering tools
Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and energy efficiency practices
Demonstrated leadership, mentoring ability, and strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working across multiple project types such as commercial, municipal, healthcare, industrial, or institutional sectors
Work Model: Hybrid schedule based in the Greater Boston / MetroWest region
