Accounting Director - North AmericaLocation: Chicago Loop | Hybrid: 2 days a week in officeAs the North America Accounting Director, you will play a critical leadership role reporting directly to our Sr. Accounting Director. You will oversee accounting operations for all North American locations and partner closely with global leaders to drive consistency, standardization, and excellence across the enterprise. This is a high-impact role ideal for a seasoned accounting leader with strong manufacturing and public accounting experience who thrives in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.Responsibilities: Manage and mentor a team of ~20 accounting professionals across multiple sites.Foster a collaborative, accountable, and continuous improvement driven culture.Conduct performance evaluations, set clear goals, and build individualized development plans.Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for all North America entities.Lead the OneStream submission process and manage revenue accounting activities.Ensure adherence to US GAAP, accounting policies, and internal controls.Apply your manufacturing accounting expertise to strengthen costing, inventory, and plant-level accounting practices.Lead integration of legacy organizations into our Accounting Center of Excellence (CoE) model.Partner with global teams to define roles, establish strong controls, and standardize best practices.Oversee SOX implementation, ensuring robust control design and execution.Provide senior leadership with insights into financial performance, risks, and opportunities.Lead special projects related to accounting, integration, and systems improvements.Support business unit finance teams on compliance, planning, and strategic initiatives.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 7+ years in leadership roles.Background in public accounting and manufacturing environments strongly desired.In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks.Proven experience ensuring SOX compliance.Travel Environment:Travel requirements are approximately 10–20% quarterly, based on business needs.
