Mechanical / Piping Engineer (Data Center | EPC)Location: Houston, TX (Local Candidates Only – No Relocation)Job Type: Direct HireCompensation: $90,000 – $135,000 Base + 10%–20% BonusJob OverviewWe are hiring a Mechanical / Piping Engineer (2–10 years experience) to support the design and execution of hyperscale data center projects within an EPC modular engineering environment. This role is responsible for mechanical and piping systems across design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and approve mechanical and piping designs, drawings, and documentationPerform piping stress analysis and flexibility studiesDevelop engineering deliverables including:Equipment lists, valve lists, piping line listsMechanical datasheets, calculations, and reportsMaterial Take-Offs (MTOs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs)Prepare technical requisitions and support vendor evaluationsEnsure compliance with ASME, ANSI, NFPA, OSHA, and other applicable standardsSupport manufacturing, construction, and commissioning teamsTroubleshoot installation and field issues as neededCoordinate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidanceParticipate in design reviews and client-facing meetingsContribute to innovative solutions that improve cost, quality, and performanceQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field2–10 years of mechanical/piping engineering experienceExperience with EPC and modular engineering designData center project experience preferredStrong knowledge of:Piping systems design, routing, and stress analysisMechanical equipment (chillers, pumps, cooling systems, vessels, etc.)Fire protection and suppression systemsRequired Technical SkillsCAESAR IINozzleProFEPipeMicrosoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)PDF tools (Adobe, Foxit, or equivalent)Preferred SkillsAutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360SolidWorksSAP or similar ERP systemsCOMPRESS, Pipe Data Pro, 3E PlusCertifications (Preferred)Professional Engineer (PE) LicenseWork Environment & ExpectationsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsComfortable supporting field activities, site visits, and commissioning effortsSelf-driven with strong attention to detail and qualityApplication InstructionsApplicants must include total compensation expectations (base + bonus) at the top of their resume.Why ApplyCompetitive compensation with performance-based bonusOpportunity to work on hyperscale data center projectsStrong growth potential within a high-impact engineering team
