The studio values creativity, quality, and timely delivery across a wide range of design projects.Role Description This part-time, on-site Java Developer role is based in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area. The Java Developer will work closely with designers and technical stakeholders to build, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications that support Stedio’s design and production workflows. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable code, implementing and testing microservices, integrating backend services with design-related tools, and troubleshooting issues in existing systems. The role involves collaborating with team members to refine technical requirements, performing code reviews, and ensuring that solutions are reliable, secure, and scalable. The Java Developer will also assist with documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.Qualifications Strong programming skills with proficiency in Java and solid understanding of object-oriented principles.Experience in software development, including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of applications.Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework for building robust and modular enterprise applications.Knowledge of microservices architecture and practical experience designing and deploying microservices-based solutions.Familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational databases, and version control tools (e.g., Git).Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a design-focused environment.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to writing clean, well-documented code.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience working in creative or digital agencies is a plus.
