Electrical Design Engineer

Design Electrical Engineer (Hybrid – 1–2 Days Onsite Weekly)A well-established, privately held industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support new product development and enhancements to an installed global customer base. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on design work, solving real-world engineering challenges, and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and service teams.The position operates in a hybrid model, requiring 1–2 days per week onsite, with the remainder remote.What You’ll DoDesign and develop electrical and control systems for new products and retrofit applicationsCreate and execute test plans to validate designs and ensure performance and reliabilityWork cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams, including global stakeholdersTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues using data-driven analysisInterface with customers and support field escalations when neededCollaborate with vendors for outsourced components and subassembliesKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop system specifications, including safety circuits, interlocks, and ESD-resistant designsGenerate and manage bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentationEnsure designs meet applicable industry standards (IEC, UL, CE, SEMI, etc.)Design, build, and test retrofit kits and product improvementsCreate test fixtures and validate designs prior to releaseProduce detailed test reports and manage engineering change documentation (ECNs)Tools & Technical EnvironmentHeavy use of SolidWorks Electrical (2D/3D) for schematic design, automation, and documentationExposure to tools like OrCAD, MATLAB, or LabVIEW is a plusWork includes wiring design, harness routing, and component specificationWhat They’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field3–5 years of hands-on electrical engineering experienceStrong electromechanical aptitude and practical design experienceBackground in industrial controls or automated equipment environments preferredExperience with grounding, shielding, and basic circuit designFamiliarity with industry compliance standards (UL, CE, SEMI, etc.)Additional StrengthsAbility to work across teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailComfortable working both independently and in a collaborative environmentOther DetailsApproximately 10–15% travel, including occasional international tripsFast-paced environment with exposure to full product lifecycle engineering
