Senior Accounting Manager
Large organization targeting an experienced Senior Accounting Manager with heavy multi entity/multi location management expertise to lead and oversee general ledger operations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. This role will play a key part in driving operational efficiency, ensuring GAAP compliance, and developing a high-performing accounting team.Location: WhittierWork Schedule: Hybrid (2 days onsite)Compensation: $145,000 – $155,000Reports To: VP of AccountingSystems: NetSuiteKey ResponsibilitiesOversee daily accounting team operations, including workflow delegation, productivity monitoring, and performance managementFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and cross-functional communicationReview accounting work and projects to ensure accuracy, adherence to procedures, and proper prioritizationLead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reportingManage all aspects of the general ledger, including review of financial statements and variance analysisReview account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and analyses for completeness and accuracyPartner with senior leadership on year-end close adjustments and reporting requirementsDevelop and maintain a structured month-end close calendar to ensure deadlines are consistently metResearch and resolve complex accounting issues in accordance with GAAPEstablish, implement, and improve accounting policies and proceduresCollaborate with executive leadership to evaluate departmental performance and productivityTrain and mentor accounting staff on systems, processes, and best practicesLead audit preparation and support external audits, reviews, and tax engagementsEnsure timely delivery of all required audit and compliance documentationDevelop and track performance metrics for team members on a quarterly basisPerform additional duties and special projects as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fieldMinimum of 4+ years of accounting management experiencePublic accounting/audit experience and skilled nursing industry exposure are preferred but not requiredExperience managing multiple entities (20+ preferred)Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirementsProven ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead teams effectivelyHigh level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentialityExcellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with strong attention to detailAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organizationPreferred Systems ExperienceNetSuitePointClickCare (billing)UKG (payroll)DSSI (procure-to-pay)
