Group Leader (Midtown)Program Name: Midtown RecoveryWorks with the following population: Male and female adults, 18 years of age and older, with addictive diseases.Days & Time: This position will work 40 hours a week. Monday through Friday. Most programs work from 8am to 5pm, with a one-hour lunchbreak.Pay: $33,072 per yearJob ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will be responsible for:Conducting evidence-based group sessions with individuals who have been identified with a substance abuse disorder.Documenting daily notes on progress in groups.Providing resources in the surrounding community that aid in maintaining sobriety.Aiding in increasing coping and basic living skills.Crisis Intervention: Assist in crisis situations by providing emotional support and utilizing de-escalationtechniques. Collaborate with the crisis intervention team to ensure the safety and well-being ofindividuals in distress.Treatment Planning: Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop and implementindividualized treatment plans. Provide input from a peer perspective to enhance the effectiveness oftreatment strategies.Advocacy: Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the healthcare system and community.Empower individuals to navigate social services, ensuring they receive the appropriate support andresources.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions andprogress. Prepare reports and documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatoryrequirements.Education and Outreach: Conduct educational sessions for clients, families, and community members toraise awareness about mental health issues and reduce stigma. Participate in outreach activities toconnect with individuals who may benefit from peer support services.Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health professionals, toensure holistic care for clients. Attend team meetings and case conferences to contribute a peerperspective to the overall care plan.Minimum Requirements:High school diploma / GED with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in this field -OR- the completion of a Bachelor's degree in social science (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or a related discipline) and one (1) year of full-time experience working with individuals with mental health disorders and/or addictive diseases. Must have Bachelor's in above named fields to be MHC eligible (Mental Health Clinician).Preferred Qualifications:A Bachelor's Degree and experience in working with individuals with mental disorders and/or addictive diseases.
