In this role, you’ll provide vital support to our Behavioral Health providers, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional care for the people we serve.Role Highlights: Be a key player in supporting Behavioral Health providers with scheduling, referrals, and patient communicationsWork Environment: Thrive in a welcoming, collaborative atmosphere that prioritizes mentorship, teamwork, and personal developmentImpact: Help deliver accessible, high-quality behavioral health services to underserved populations, making a tangible differenceGrowth Opportunities: Access professional development resources, training, and opportunities to advance your career within our mission-driven organizationTeam Collaboration: Work alongside a diverse and compassionate group of professionals committed to improving community healthKey ResponsibilitiesArrange language line interpretation services for non-English speaking patients, ensuring clear and respectful communicationAssist new patients with registration and provide support on appointment days to create a seamless experienceManage electronic health records (EHR) and continuity of care lists to ensure smooth operationsCoordinate provider schedules to optimize patient access and manage the waitlist for Behavioral Health ServicesProcess and follow up on internal service orders for psychological testing and Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH)Screen new and existing patients, completing risk assessments when necessaryObtain vital signs and accurately enter data into the EHR systemMake reminder calls to patients with unconfirmed appointments and handle voicemail messages promptlyProcess prior authorizations for psychological testing and medications efficientlyProvide administrative support, including data entry, mail/fax sorting, and general office dutiesAssist in triaging behavioral health emergencies and support blood draws, injections, EKGs, and drug screens as neededParticipate in mandatory staff meetings and safety training programs to stay informed and preparedMaintain a safe and professional work environment, adhering to company standards and safety protocolsCross-cover remotely and travel to other locations as required to support team operationsMinimum QualificationsBLS (CPR & AED) Certified requiredThree to six months of related experience preferredOne year certificate from college or technical school preferredFamiliarity with BH preferredComputer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Good direct and telephone communication skillsMust be able to work in a team settingLeadership ability for program management, growth, and development within the Center and the CommunityCommunication/interpersonal skills to interact courteously and professionally with associates and customers of various ethnic and socio-economic backgroundsKnowledge of and the ability to interact effectively with various community agencies and resourcesCoordinate multiple activities simultaneouslyBilingual English and Spanish speaking requiredAbout Legacy Community HealthAs the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Southeast Texas, Legacy Community Health has been delivering comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care for nearly 40 years.
