Known for its dedication to excellence and client satisfaction, Berkowitz Lichtstein provides a collaborative and supportive professional environment.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Estate Administration Paralegal position based in Roseland, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience handling all aspects of estate administration, from date of death through final distributions, including:Serving as a client-facing point of contact and communicating directly with clients, accountants, financial institutions and other professional throughout the estate administration process; Preparing probate documents and assisting with the probate process (NJ required, NY a plus but not required); Assisting with the collection of assets and obtaining date-of-death valuations; Preparing Federal and State estate and/or inheritance tax returns; Preparing Receipts, Releases and Refunding Bonds in connection with distributions; Assisting with asset distributions and the closing of estates; Familiarity with portability elections, QTIP trusts, bypass/credit shelter trusts, GST issues, and related reporting on estate tax returns; and Familiarity with gift tax returns.QualificationsStrong understanding of Law and experience with Estate Administration proceduresExcellent Communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on maintaining effective client relationshipsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently in an on-site settingBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experienceExperience in estate administration or similar legal work is preferred
