PRODUCTION PACKER - 2nd Shift

POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Packer is responsible for stacking bags and boxes of fresh produce in bins andonto pallets. The position also ensures the accuracy of the count or weight of the finished product. Your goal is toaccurately pack and identify finished goods in a secure manner that prepares them for warehouse storage and customershipment. Always improving. Always serving. Always winning together. Exceeding expectations every day.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Repacking potatoes:Learn stacking patterns in order to correctly stack bags and boxes of potatoesStack 50-pound boxes correctly and neatly on a palletStack 50-pound bales correctly and neatly on a palletStack 5-pound, 8-pound, 10-pound, 15-pound, and 20-pound bags in bins correctly and neatlySet up pallets and bins throughout the day as needed to keep the packaging process running efficientlyWrap bins with plastic wrap or netting when necessaryWeigh potatoes to make sure the bags and boxes weigh the correct amountClean-UpClean up around the machine youre working on that dayPick up good produce and put it into the production cycle on an ongoing basis throughout the dayPick up garbage and dispose of properlyClean items on Master Sanitation Schedule as requiredMiscellaneousUnload rail cars and trailers as necessaryDump 100-pound bags of potatoes into holding binClean out potato binsTear open returned bags of potatoes and dump them into binsPerform other related duties as necessary or assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or equivalentREQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Positive attitudeWillingness to learnSelf-motivated and able to function as part of a teamAbility to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) softwarePHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Must be agile to climb stationary ladders and into potato binsVarious repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasksExposure to airborne particles or fumesMust be able to lift.
