Cost / Schedule / Controls Engineer / Specialist II
Airswift is looking for a Cost / Schedule / Controls Engineer / Specialist II to support a major client in Channahon, IL on a 9-month contract Schedule: 4/10The Cost/Schedule/Controls Engineer will perform or coordinate effort for cost estimate preparation, estimating oversight and quality assurance reviews for Company operated and Other Builder Operator estimates for all Gate and Funding milestones. The Cost/Schedule/Controls Engineer will also prepare Check Estimates and Schedules to compare with Operated by Others (OBO) Operator-prepared submittals. Also this person will participate in estimate / Schedule assessments (verification of project cost & schedule bases). Lastly, they are expected to participate in Estimating Group process efficiency tools and quality assurance review process improvements.Responsibilities:Assist in Setting up the baseline cost control system (internal and external) and documentation for the projectPrepare forecasts, cost trend reports, and monitor cost and budget forecasts on multiple projects on the same work siteReport on deviations, underruns and overruns, and can make recommendations for corrective actionsAssist Estimating Group Supervisor with analysis and planning for Cost and Schedule Development (C&SD) Estimate / Schedule staffing requirementsProvide input for personnel performance appraisal for cost and schedule practitioners as requestedAssist Area Supervisors with updates of weekly Status Report and project status summary reportsPromote and facilitate effective communication, teamwork, and alignment among Cost & Schedule Development personnel and othersConceive, implement or participate in capital efficiency improvement initiativesInternal Coordination:Cost & Schedule Area Advisors/SupervisorsProject Management Area Advisors (Planning & Controls)Project Planning & Controls (Business) Managers and Project Controls Leads assigned to ProjectsCost & Scheduling (C&S) Technology ManagerC&S personnel permanently assigned to projectsEnsure appropriate quality and quantity of Contractor's Quality staff assigned to the projectExternal Coordination: Counterparts in other project management organizations Requirement:Bachelor's degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experiencePrevious experience in a closely related positionSkills to negotiate and broker successful solutions between Internal Coordination parties aboveBasic to advance level proficiency in Cost Estimating, Project Planning and Project ControlsStrong Influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skillsAdaptability to changing prioritiesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to organize, plan, control, coordinate, and effectively manage cross-functional activities
