It's a space where you can be yourself and do your best work.The RoleLUZCO is looking for an organized, motivated, and collaborative Assistant Project Manager to support utility and construction-related projects from kickoff through completion. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced work, problem-solving, and coordinating moving pieces while developing long-term project management skills. As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll work closely with senior project managers, engineers, clients, contractors, and field teams to help keep projects on track, organized, and moving forward. This position is designed to provide hands-on exposure to all aspects of project management, with opportunities to gradually take ownership of projects over time. This role is typically 80% office-based and 20% field-based, with travel to project sites within a 1–3 hour radius of the reporting location.What Your Day Will Look LikeSupport Project Managers across multiple active projects from inception to completionReview initial project scopes and assist in developing project work plans with engineering teams and clientsCoordinate outage requests and sequencing plans with internal teams and contractorsAssist with procurement coordination for major and minor material/equipment needsCoordinate environmental and non-environmental permitting review and submittalsHelp prepare RFP packages, scopes of work, baseline schedules, and bid documentationParticipate in contractor bid evaluations and award recommendationsFacilitate or assist with pre-construction and project progress meetingsTrack project schedules, milestones, budgets, and financial forecastsMaintain project documentation and navigate client systems for project tracking and reportingCommunicate project updates related to schedule, costs, procurement, safety, and construction progressBuild and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and field teamsSpend time in the field to stay engaged with project progress and better understand project scopesCollaborate regularly with schedulers and project teams to maintain detailed project schedulesEssentials to SucceedBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field2–5 years of experience in project coordination or construction project managementStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively with a variety of teams, clients, and stakeholdersValid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as neededWhat Will Make You Stand OutExperience supporting utility, transmission line, substation, or telecommunications projectsFamiliarity with project scheduling or project management softwareExperience managing project budgets, forecasts, or procurement coordinationPMP certification or interest in pursuing professional project management developmentDesire to continue growing technical knowledge within substations, transmission lines, or telecommunications industriesReady to make an impact?We know you might not check every single box on the job description—and that's totally fine.
