*About the Role*
We are seeking an experienced Security Lead to oversee the daily operations and performance of a contract security team supporting a large corporate campus in Cary.
This is a hands-on supervisory position responsible for staffing, scheduling, officer performance, training, patrol operations, incident response, and coordination with the client’s Safety & Security Operations Center.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, and comfortable holding employees accountable while maintaining a productive working relationship with the client and security team.
*Position Overview*
As the Security Lead, you will supervise security officers assigned to multiple posts and properties across the Cary campus. You will ensure posts are staffed, officers are properly trained, patrols are completed, incidents are documented, and operational issues are promptly communicated.
This role requires a balance of people management, administrative organization, field supervision, and emergency-response leadership.
*Key Responsibilities*
● Supervise the daily activities and performance of assigned security officers.
● Prepare schedules and coordinate coverage for call-outs, time-off requests, vacancies, special events, and staffing shortages.
● Monitor attendance, punctuality, appearance, conduct, and compliance with post orders.
● Conduct coaching, performance evaluations, corrective action, and remedial training when needed.
● Train and onboard new officers on post responsibilities, patrol routes, emergency procedures, radio communication, and incident reporting.
● Inspect security posts, patrol vehicles, radios, keys, medical equipment, and other assigned resources.
● Review patrol tours and checkpoint activity to identify missed assignments or performance concerns.
● Respond to security incidents and provide onsite supervisory support during emergencies.
● Ensure incidents are immediately communicated to the Safety & Security Operations Center and properly documented.
● Review incident reports for accuracy, professionalism, factual content, and completeness.
● Conduct site walkthroughs, lighting inspections, safety audits, and security assessments.
● Coordinate security coverage for corporate events, employee departures, construction activity, and other special operations.
● Maintain current post orders, emergency procedures, patrol information, training records, and operational documentation.
● Prepare recurring reports covering staffing, attendance, patrol activity, incidents, training, access credentials, and equipment issues.
● Maintain professional communication with client representatives, employees, visitors, contractors, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
*Role Scope*
The Security Lead directly supervises the onsite contract security officer team.
The position works closely with the client’s Safety & Security Operations Center but does not supervise operations center personnel or independently make changes to client-owned access control, video surveillance, network, or technical security systems.

● Communicating through email, Slack, ticketing platforms, and other business systems.
● Learning access control, video surveillance, patrol management, visitor management, and workforce-management platforms.
● Troubleshooting basic user or equipment issues and escalating technical problems appropriately.
*Minimum Requirements*
● Two or more years of professional security, military, law enforcement, public safety, or related experience.
● Previous lead or supervisory experience.
● Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
● Ability to manage schedules, staffing issues, employee performance, and competing operational priorities.
● Strong professional writing skills and the ability to review incident reports.
● Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive during emergencies.
● Comfortable using computers, scheduling systems, email, chat platforms, reporting tools, and digital dashboards.
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
