POSITION FUNCTION:The Controller is a strategic and operational finance leader responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role owns day-to-day operations, including month-end close, audit, and compliance, while driving process and system improvements.As a key partner to the CFO, the Controller supports business decision-making through financial analysis, technical accounting expertise, and experience with project-based revenue models. This includes direct leadership in NetSuite optimization to enable scalable and efficient operations.The Controller works cross-functionally to align accounting with business operations, particularly in project environments, and ensures financial integrity, efficiency, and compliance while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership. CORE COMPETENCIES:1. Accounting & Finance Excellence: A minimum of 6-10 years of progressive accounting experience (including 2-4 years in a controller or similar role). A strong operational background and experience working with multiple business units and leaders is strongly preferred. 2. Project Accounting Controllership Expertise: The right-fit candidate will be a CPA and not only have experience in complex businesses but will have demonstrated ability to implement a project accounting environment. 3. Operational Excellence: Proven track record of driving process improvements across accounting functions, increasing efficiency, shortening close cycles, improving data accuracy and, and leading initiatives through strong project management, communication, and change management capabilities. Acts as a strategic partner to the CFO in optimizing financial operations.4. Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience working cross-functionally with diverse teams and senior leaders. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple deadlines, and drive initiatives to completion.5. ERP Systems & Implementation: The Controller will have a strong understanding of NetSuite project-based accounting, including revenue recognition beyond traditional POC, with the ability to manage methodology-driven revenue and ensure accurate categorization and tracking across the project lifecycle.6. Powerful Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, including confidence and presence to engage effectively with senior executives.
