Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory techniques, a focus on patient service, and the ability to collect blood samples with precision. This role is critical to our laboratory success, and we are looking for someone who can contribute to our mission to provide high-quality healthcare. The role will consist of being on call Monday through Friday to cover when the full time or part time phlebotomist needs off. You will be accurately trained at each clinic you will be responsible for covering! Clinic locations you will be on call for: Hoover, Pelham, Calera, Tuscaloosa, Trussville, and central Birmingham ** You will receive mileage reimbursement for your travel. ** Clinic hours you will be on call for: 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, you could potentially be asked to work a Saturday or Sunday. Responsibilities: - Perform venipuncture and blood sampling as required, adhering to all safety protocols and lab policies. - Ability to be on call Monday through Friday for covering the full time / part time phlebotomist when they need off or call out. - Collect and process blood samples for laboratory testing, following established laboratory procedures. - Record patient information accurately and efficiently. - Utilize laboratory techniques to ensure proper specimen collection and processing. - Provide exceptional patient service, addressing any concerns or questions they may have. - Work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting, prioritizing tasks and maintaining a positive attitude. - Maintain accurate records of patient data and specimens. Experience: - Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is essential. - Proven experience with venipuncture and blood sampling with adults and pediatrics. - Ability to work well in a team environment and provide excellent patient service. - Experience with specimen collection and processing is highly desirable.
