This position performs preventive maintenance procedures on the water treatment equipment for the Yuma Desalting Plant.ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance (PM) procedures on Yuma Desalting Plant water treatment equipment.Documentation of procedures through detailed PM Job Plans.Provide assistance to Journeyman level technicians on a variety of projects.Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.Work involves most of the following: installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.Housekeeping responsibilities throughout the Yuma Desalting Plant and other assigned duties.RequirementsHigh School Degree or equivalentValid AZ Driver's LicenseA minimum of two years of experience in an industrial maintenance electrical environment, or completion of an apprenticeship program or technical trade school.Reliable transportation to and from workExcellent customer service skills, including verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Good planning and organizational skills.Basic analytical and creative problem-solving skills.A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.Promptness and timeliness in completing assigned tasksAbility to read and understand blueprints and process diagrams preferredAdditional Qualifying FactorsAs a condition of employment, it will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to YDP. During work in the field setting, the candidate will be exposed to an environment typical of the southwest desert.
