Role: Sr. Microsoft Purview consultant Location: 100% Remote Position2-4 months project with high possibility of extensionGovernment ClientJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Microsoft Purview Consultant to design, implement, and manage data governance, compliance, and information protection solutions using Microsoft Purview. The ideal candidate will work with security, compliance, legal, and IT teams to protect sensitive data, enforce regulatory requirements, and support enterprise data governance initiatives across cloud and hybrid environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement data governance and compliance solutions using Microsoft Purview. Configure and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, sensitivity labels, and information protection controls. Implement Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) and data classification strategies across enterprise environments. Manage data lifecycle, retention, and records management policies for regulatory compliance. Configure Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, and eDiscovery solutions. Perform data discovery, data cataloging, and metadata management activities. Integrate Purview with Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party applications. Monitor compliance posture and generate audit/compliance reports for stakeholders. Conduct risk assessments and recommend remediation strategies for data security gaps. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to support investigations and governance initiatives. Develop governance standards, documentation, SOPs, and security best practices. Support migration and deployment projects involving Microsoft security and compliance technologies. Provide technical guidance, user training, and operational support for Purview services. Troubleshoot Purview-related issues and optimize platform performance. Required SkillsStrong experience with Microsoft Purview. Knowledge of: Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Sensitivity Labels Information Protection eDiscovery Compliance Manager Records Management Insider Risk Management Data Governance Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure. Understanding of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001. Knowledge of identity and access management concepts. Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation. Familiarity with security operations and cloud security best practices. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
